When: 9 Mar 2022
Where: Online Event
Tutor: Frits Koster
About the event:
‘Science confirms that kindness and compassion are to the brain what the breath is to life’ – Daniel Siegel, professor of child psychiatry and author.
In Buddhist psychology, four healing qualities are mentioned, which contribute to greater well-being: kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity. They can support us in our relationship with others and with ourselves. In a non-religious compassion training - Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living - we call these heart qualities the Four Friends for Life. In this workshop we will explore these four qualities of the heart in theory and in practice.
The workshop is free to attend. The Mindfulness Network welcomes any donations via the application form and encourages you to consider a contribution, large or small, which will make a big difference in helping us widen access to mindfulness-based approaches.
This event is offered in collaboration with the Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) - an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of donation-based events and inspiring content. You are welcome to visit the Community Friends area of our Community site, which is open to all, for more opportunities to practice and learn together: https://community.mindfulness-network.org/course/view.php?id=72
The workshop will take place online using Zoom from 6.30pm – 8.00pm UK time (GMT).
