Course Information

Supervision Training: Level 2

When: 8 Jun 2023 - 9 Jun 2023
Where: Online Event
Tutors: Alison Evans, Pamela Duckerin

This course will be taught experientially as we engage together in a process of mindful exploration and inquiry to deepen our practice as supervisors.

Watch a short 4-minute video from our Supervision Lead, Alison Evans:

This 2-day course builds upon the 3-day mindfulness-based supervision training. We will continue to deepen our work with using embodied inquiry within mindfulness-based supervision, using the mindfulness-based supervision framework. Discussion and skills practise will focus on furthering our understanding of different aspects of mindfulness-based supervision, including the use of the MBI:TAC/TLC, reviewing supervision, agenda setting, supervision of supervision (supra-vision).

We will dedicate time to exploring mindfulness-based supervision in group formats. Time will be given to brief periods of practice, reflective time and exploring together in dialogue in small and large groups as we learn through our individual and collective experience. Participants will be invited to bring their experiences of supervising to the training to support our collective learning. The intention is to create an open, spacious learning environment, which will encourage and support spontaneity and creativity.

 Pre-requisites:

This course is for experienced mindfulness-based teachers and practitioners, who are already supervising from a mindfulness-based stance, using an inquiry approach. Applicants need to:

· have taught at least nine mindfulness courses over a minimum of three years

· have completed the 3-day level 1 mindfulness-based supervision training

· are in receipt of ongoing mindfulness-based supervision for their teaching and mindfulness-based supervision (supra-vision)

· have supervised at least 16 sessions of supervision using a mindfulness-based approach (this should include supervising at least two different supervisees and supervising at least one of them through teaching an 8-week MBP course)

From our experience and from feedback from participants, the level 2 training is much more helpful when supervisors have had some experience which is the reason we suggest a minimum number of supervisions offered before applying.

If you are unsure whether you meet the criteria for this course, please contact us to discuss.

Participants must commit to the entire online training. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, we are unable to negotiate late arrivals or early leaving. If this is not possible, please contact us to discuss before submitting an application.
