CANCELLED: Workshop: Equality Diversity and Inclusion

When: 30 Nov 2023 - 1 Dec 2023
Where: Online Event
Tutor: Bethan Roberts

At the heart of teaching Mindfulness Based Programmes is an engagement with the reality of suffering. This workshop, consisting of two half days, provides an opportunity to reflect on how exclusion and discrimination can cause suffering, a space to consider our responsibilities as supervisors and teachers, and to explore together what we can do to be more inclusive and how we can actively promote equality and diversity.

Learning Intentions:

  • Reflecting upon and raising awareness of the impact of exclusion, discrimination and stigma
  • Improving understanding of the Equality Act which seeks to protect individuals from unlawful discrimination and harassment
  • Identifying which ‘characteristics’ are ‘protected’ and the types of discrimination and harassment which are unlawful
  • Considering how to actively promote equality, diversity and inclusion in the mindfulness field
  • Recognising the importance of raising awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion issues with our supervisees

Who is the training for:

This training is suitable for anyone working within the mindfulness field including teachers (new and established), trainers, supervisors, retreat leaders, mentors and administrators.

What is involved:
