Test Donations

The Mindfulness Network is a registered charity. We serve the mindfulness community and general public through supervision, retreats and training courses. Our events are priced competitively and any surplus goes back into the organisation to allow us to continue offering our services, run by a small team of dedicated part-time staff. As a charity, we want to offer high-quality mindfulness and compassion events for all, while raising donations that will fund our bursary schemes so that people from all backgrounds can afford to use our services. We have a deep appreciation for every contribution, large or small, which will make a big difference in helping us make mindfulness-based approaches more accessible.

Why Donate to the Mindfulness Network?

Your donation helps us widen access and impact through two bursary funds (for supervision, training and retreats) and  supports the work that we do as a non-profit organisation. Our aim is to increase inclusion and diversity, which is at the heart of our vision.

We recognise that the mindfulness world is not truly representative and diverse. We are committed, though, to being part of the solution to this problem by ensuring that our services are as accessible and inclusive as possible, and that impact from those using our services can reach into wider communities. By offering bursaries, our intention is to support people from all socio-economic backgrounds to train to be mindfulness-based teachers, receive supervision and attend mindfulness retreats. Widening access in this way is vital to the relevance and integrity of our field.

Christina Feldman, one of the leading founding mindfulness teachers in the West, has endorsed our appeal:

The Mindfulness Network is doing a sterling job of providing mindfulness training of the highest standard. Supporting the bursary funds is an invaluable contribution in ensuring these trainings are available to all, regardless of their backgrounds or financial struggles. Those who train will go on to touch the lives of many in meaningful ways. Your contribution significantly supports the network’s aim to be fully inclusive.

There are two bursary funds that you can donate to:

The Cindy Cooper Bursary Fund for Supervision

This fund will help mindfulness-based teachers access supervision, which is required to meet the good practice guidelines for teachers who offer mindfulness courses. Your donation will support teachers financially at the start of their teaching, or at critical points in their development, or to support equality, diversion and inclusion.

The Events Bursary Fund

We now offer bursary-assisted places across our full programme of events. This bursary fund is used to support MBA trainees and teachers at key stages in their development to attend training, retreats and compassion events. This fund will help those training to become mindfulness-based teachers. It is aimed at those who would otherwise not be able to train as mindfulness-based teachers, and particularly to support equality, diversity and inclusion. Retreats are an essential requirement for teachers of mindfulness-based approaches (MBAs) to meet good practice guidelines.

To read more about the bursaries and how to apply, visit Our Bursaries page.

If you donate directly to one of our bursary funds then 100% of your contribution will support someone else to access our services at a lower cost, allowing people from all backgrounds to have the same opportunities.

If you want to make a donation to the Mindfulness Network and let us decide how best to use the money, then donations to our General Fund are warmly received.

General Donations

General Donations will be used as follows:

  • 37.5% of your donation will help to fund our bursaries, which enables us to remove financial barriers for those wishing to use our charity’s services.
  • 37.5% of your donation will fund the Mindfulness Network Community Friends – an initiative to support MBA teachers, engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences through freely offered events and opportunities to practice, led by a committee of volunteers.
  • The remaining 25% of your donation will support our charity in the following ways:
    • to offer additional bursaries that do not fit neatly into the Supervision or Event Bursary Schemes (e.g. to support a trainer to develop skills that meet a training need we have that is not readily available).
    • to allow us to price some events below cost where we think there is a special need (e.g. a retreat or training event for teachers that supports our EDI policy).
    • to create an emergency reserves fund to support unforeseen events (e.g. an event cancellation for reasons beyond our control).
    • to cover the costs of administering these funds, if we cannot do so from surpluses on events.

All gift aid that we claim will go into the General Fund.

Regular Donations

One way that you can support us is through regular donations. The Mindfulness Network relies on the generosity of others in order to continue to run free events and offer training and development opportunities for mindfulness teachers. If you are in a position to do so, a suggested monthly donation of £5 or £10 will go into our General Fund, which feeds into our bursary funds, enables us to develop the charity, keep costs down and offer support to those most in need.

Set up a regular donation now and help people from all backgrounds to have the same opportunities.
