About you

Your physical and mental health
The Mindfulness Network is committed to safe practice and we have a Safeguarding Policy that sets out our duty of care to everyone who comes in to contact with the organisation. You can read about the policy here https://home.mindfulness-network.org/our-policies/

Please read these safety guidelines before submitting your application for this retreat.

Silent meditation retreats can be very supportive to wellbeing; however, due to their intensive nature, it is advised that they are undertaken at a time of relative stability in psychological health. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience to attend a silent retreat.

For this reason, attending a retreat following recent (within the past year) experiences of significant trauma or psychiatric illness is not recommended.

Similarly, if you are currently experiencing acute emotional distress such as serious depression or anxiety, or trauma-related distress including nightmares, flashbacks and intrusive thoughts this may not be the best time for you to attend a silent retreat. If you are having these sorts of experiences, finding a setting to deepen your practice where more interpersonal support is offered is likely to be more helpful.

If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. If there is any uncertainty about whether this is a good time for you to attend, we recommend that you pause your registration for now and sign up at a later date so that you can have the most supportive and beneficial experience of taking part in a retreat.

It is important to us to be able to fully welcome everyone. If you have any specific needs relating to disability or health conditions, including difficulties with hearing, please contact us before the event so that we can discuss ways that we can support you during the event: communityfriends@mindfulness-network.org

I confirm that I've read these guidelines.
Course fees
The event is offered at no charge, but we are inviting donations to help cover the costs and to contribute to our charitable purpose. All donations will go into our general bursary fund that enables us to develop the charity, keep costs down, and offer support to those most in need. £20 covers our basic costs for setting up an event.

If you would like to donate please enter the amount here: £

Would you like us to reclaim Gift Aid on your behalf? You can boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate. Gift Aid is reclaimed by the Mindfulness Network from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK tax payer.

I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
