Donation Event: Mindfulness-Based Supervision: Why is it important to me?

When: 24 Jul 2023
Where: Online Event
Tutors: Alison Evans, Ruth Baer, Claire Kelly

About the event:

Meet Alison Evans speaking with Oxford Mindfulness Foundation trainers, Ruth Baer and Claire Kelly, and trainees about their experience of supervision.

Mindfulness-based supervision (MBS) is an important aspect of training to be a mindfulness-based teacher, which helps to build the skills required to be a safe and competent teacher. It also supports teaching in professional and ethical ways. It is inquiry and relationally-based, offering a supportive and safe space to explore. Supervision doesn’t need to stop once you have learned the basics of teaching. As your needs shift and change, the supervision space can evolve. In this event, we share some stories with you from a range of supervisors and supervisees about their experience of supervision.

You can watch more about supervision from a previous event about Mindfulness-Based Supervision with Alison Evans and Pamela Duckerin. Alison also wrote a blog “The scope of mindfulness-based supervision: potential for growth and transformation” which speaks about the many different possibilities of MBS.

This event is offered in collaboration with the Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) - an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of donation-based events and inspiring content. You are welcome to visit the Community Friends area of our Community site, which is open to all, for more opportunities to practice and learn together: https://community.mindfulness-network.org/course/view.php?id=72
